J’ai enfin pris le temps d’éditer ce mix Deep House que j’avais enregistré en fin d’année 2011 ici à Montréal, à l’invitation de Michael Terzian pour son show hebdomadaire Salvation From Sin.

Vous avez peut-être déjà eu l’occasion de l’entendre, mais en tout cas je vous donne ici la possibilité de télécharger uniquement le Mix, si vous êtes également intéressé pour écouter uniquement l’interview que j’avais donné ce jour (uniquement en anglais) vous pouvez aussi l’écouter ici.

Je regrette bien sûr ce temps d’attente pour enfin vous offrir un nouveau mix et je ne me chercherai pas d’excuses

En tout cas, me voici donc de retour, et sachez qu’un nouveau mix devrait voir le jour très prochainement.

Voici un nouveau mix deep house de Zepherin Saint que vous allez certainement beaucoup apprécier. On continue le tour du monde, cette fois-ci nous sommes chez nos amis britanniques, à Londres.

À l’occasion de sa venue ce soir à Montréal pour la soirée organisée par Oasis Wednesdaysau Salon Daomé et intitulée OASIS WEDNESDAYS pres. TAMBOR/TRIBE +MIKE STEVEN’S B-DAY BASH, je vous invite à découvrir ici 2 mix de Zepherin Saint.

Alpha & Olmega featuring Sheyi – The African Drummer (Zepherin Saint Remix)

Ce dj qui nous vient de Londres et qui a plus de 20 derrière les platines est le co-fondateur de Tribe Records.

Il produit son premier morceau en 1987 sous le pseudonyme Boyz in Shock Feat. Carol Leeming considéré comme l’un des premiers morceaux de style « Garage » britannique.

Il a depuis continué sa carrière de producteurs et de Dj à travers le monde entier, et il est donc bien évident que je vous incite forcément à venir le voir en live. C’est un excellent Dj qui est capable de jouer beaucoup de styles très différents, avec un côté underground mais aussi très soulful. Les amateurs de House Music et de Deep House vont apprécier, sans oublier les danseurs bien évidemment !

Sa carrière de producteur est également toujours aussi active que cela soit pour son label Tribe Records ou bien pour des remixes comme celui-ci.

Farrah – Waiting (Zepherin Saint Mix)

Voici donc un premier mix enregistré en live le mois dernier à Paris au Djoon, qui pourra vous donner une idée sur ce qu’il est capable de faire en live, je dois avouer que j’ai particulièrement apprécié ce mix que j’ai trouvé très énergique, très propre, et pour le moins éclectique.

Je pense que ce titre est vraiment un morceau de House Music que tous les fans du genre apprécient. La voix particulière de Margaret Grace crée une atmosphère très particulière, et les lyrics viennent remplir le track d’une émotion très forte.
Quentin Harris de son côté assure une production magistrale, avec un lead puissant et des envolées superbe au clavier !

Voici un mix Deep House que j’ai écouté la semaine dernière et que j’ai trouvé vraiment très bon. Il est l’oeuvre d’un DJ allemand, de Berlin, André Lodemann.

Je n’ai pas eu l’occasion de faire de biographie d’André Lodemann et j’ai donc fait quelques recherches hier. André Lodemann compte derrière lui quelques 20 années de djing et presque 10 ans comme producteur. Il est le propriétaire du label Best Works Records.

André Lodemann a grandi dans l’ex RDA (Allemagne de l’Est) où régnait une grande censure imposée par le communisme. Influencé par la musique de ses parents c’est surtout en écoutant des radios d’Allemange de l’Ouest qu’il s’est forgé son univers musical. Lors de la réunification de l’Allemagne, André rejoint le mouvement techno grandissant à Berlin dans les années 1990, c’est là qu’il débute sa carrière de DJ.

C’est donc tout naturellement qu’on retrouve dans ses productions et dans les différents morceaux qu’il nous livre ici dans ce podcast, un style très underground et un son très très deep house.

Voici donc un voyage dans les profondeurs de Berlin avec ce set deep et undrgound d’André Lodemann.

What would have been House Music History without Kerri Chandler? Best Deep House DJ award winner in 2011, the man is a legend and here’s a mix recorded by the same time.

I know it’s an old mix and you might want hear something new, but…this mix is just the bomb. Kerri is providing really soulful vibes and some pumping hits ! This mix is really a dancefloor killer, and I’m pretty sure House Dancers would love the vibe in here.

I really think that every dj should listen to this mix just to understand that’s mixing is not only about beat matching tracks but also creating an atmosphere, and, Kerri would not be called “Kaoz” Chander if he did not how to do that !
I posted yesterday a recent Mix of Manoo, and I’ve always thought that his approach of mixing is really close to Kerri Chandler’s. What’s fun is that they both grew up in musicians and DJ families. My point here is just to say that nothing can beat musical knowledge, cause again, it opens your mind to all different things.

Like it was said in the Maestro Movie, a DJ is someone who knows how to tell a story. What are you going to say if you don’t know any?

So enjoy this great moment. Sun is was shining in Montreal today and I hope it’s the same for you, wherever you are. Summer is on his way!

Thanks to L’Ambassade, famous night club in Lyon, France, I had the chance to find this jewel, a mix by one of my favorite dj, Manoo.
Manoo is just an amazing dj, and I had the chance to see him a lot because i lived in Lyon for 4 years and spent a lot of time at L’Ambassade.

So, I guess part of my musical influence in the scene is coming from Manoo, from what I heard back in those days, and it as just by the time he started producing some music. And what music…Oh boy…Manoo made master pieces, and might be a reason why he’s so succesfull today.

What you might know about the guy is that his knowledge about Music, not only House Music, is HUGE. And, what I like is that when you’re listening to Manoo, there are no bonderies, no frontieres. Manoo just loves the music, and he really knows how to act with a dancefloor, how to catch the emotion. He brings back this spirit from the New-York 80’s, brings back the smile on people face. Disco, Funk, early house music, afro-beats and deep house bombs, that’s a classic playlist for Manoo.

I also had the chance to see him live, opening for Louie Vega, what could be one my favorite clubbing night ever, cause the both of them were just fabulous this night.

One last thing about the man. I was at the club and asked Manoo where I could find one of his last vinyl record. He smiled at me, looked in his dj bag, grabbed the vinyl, and gave it to me. Touched me a lot, and of course, very special record for me.

Enough talking, for those who know the man, pretty sure this one would be on your playlist. For the others, well, just close your eyes, and let Manoo take you on a very special journey.

Today’s mix is a dj/producer that blew my mind for the past couple of years, Jimpster, Freerange records boss from U.K.
Not only is he a really headliner producer in deep house music today, but he’s also a very good dj.

This mix was released in March as a Freerange podcast, but if you did not listen to it yet you really have too.

This is all about the spirit that Jimpster is trying to establish with Freerange, and what I can say is that I’m totally fan of it.
